We are now officially in the training schedule from RunDisney/Galloway and Winter has decided to show up at the exact same time. It’s annoying. I hate running on treadmills. I hate that it’s dark both before and after work. I hate that it hurts to breathe in through my nose when it’s super cold. I hate that I have to bring a million layers with me to work. I hate that whenever I want to run, it’s raining. You get the point.
So – what are my options? The race date isn’t going to change, so it’s time to figure something out! Here’s what I’ve thought up.
- Suck it up and run on a treadmill with a slight incline. There are a decent number of gyms around me, I could probably find one that isn’t super expensive. It’s mainly just for a half hour. I can do that. Probably…
- Run outside still. Pack up a separate bag and buy some cold weather running gear and find my headlamp.
- Find an Indoor running track that is close and available for public use. (Based on my google searches this one is sadly not looking likely…)
There are pros and cons to all them, but honestly I think it’s going to be a mixture of gym runs during the week and outdoor runs during the weekend.
If anyone knows of an indoor track, or has a gym recommendation for Indy, it would be most welcome! Please write it in the comments and I’ll check it out.
